Start with position sizing to translate a risk budget into units. Use pip value to understand currency movements, then check margin separately: margin is collateral, not your maximum loss. Profit and loss estimates exclude spreads, commissions, financing and slippage.
These tools use your inputs rather than live executable broker quotes. For most non-JPY forex pairs a pip is 0.0001; JPY pairs commonly use 0.01. Confirm the contract specification with your broker, especially for metals, CFDs and crypto.
