In September 2026, French consumer prices are expected to increase by 3.0% year-on-year
Over the course of a year, according to the preliminary estimate made at the end of the month, consumer prices are projected to rise by 3.0% in September 2026, following a 2.4% increase in August. Energy prices are expected to accelerate again, driven by higher prices for petroleum products and gas. Services inflation is projected to increase slightly, primarily because the seasonal decline in prices for accommodation and transportation services is expected to be less pronounced than in September 2025.
