German import prices in August 2026: +8.3% on August 2025
Import prices were 8.3% higher in August 2026 than in August 2025. This was the largest year-on-year increase recorded since December 2022 (+9.6% on December 2021). Compared with the same month a year earlier, the rate of change was +6.8% in July 2026, and +6.1% in June 2026. The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that import prices in August 2026 were up 1.0% on July 2026.
