I am not really an expert when it comes to handling MQL5 files , but i have noticed that the folder "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Tester\" contains large log and tester files (over 130 GB) filling up my C drive . Is it safe to manually delete these files without corrupting the metatrader 5 software ? I already save my backtesting reports in excel files in another drive and they don't take up a lot of space

Here are some files you can safely delete: logs\*.log (general logs) temp\*.* Tester\Agent-* (testing using local agents) Tester\Manager\logs\*.* (local agent manager) Tester\Manager\temp\*.* Tester\cache\*.opt (optimisation cached results) Tester\cache\*.tst MQL5\logs\*.log (EA logs) MQL5\Files\Tester\*.mqd (frames) As well as the following locations, likely the ones that make up most of your 130 GB, as they are ticks and history downloaded by MT5 (or Tickstory, if you use something like that): Tester\bases\*\history\*\*.hcs Tester\bases\*\ticks\*\*.hcs Tester\bases\*\history\*\*.hcs I regularly clean these up as a workaround to some little bug I occasionally get when doing remote testing under Wine. They will simply be downloaded again by MT5 on the next Strategy Tester run. Of course, if you are using Tickstory instead, you will need to re-export them instead.
